3YO ELECTRIC COWGIRL Draws Off by Six in Manitoba Oaks

Making her stakes debut, ELECTRIC COWGIRL took the lead at the start and never relinquished it to win the one mile Manitoba Oaks by an impressive six lengths. The 3-year-old filly by COWBOY CAL broke on top out of post two, had some pressure for the first six furlongs, then widened her margin through the stretch to the wire at Assiniboia Downs. ELECTRIC COWGIRL won for the fourth time (all different tracks) in seven starts this year, including a 3 3/4-length maiden score at Fair Grounds and a 6 1/2-length tally in an off-the-turf one mile race at Lone Star Park. Lifetime record: 11-4-1-3, $56,705. O-Henry S. Witt, Jr. B-C. Kidder, N. Cole, J. K. Griggs & Linda Griggs. T-Jerry Gourneau.
