POINT SYSTEM Rallies From 12th to Win $100,000 H.B.P. A. S.

Making her second start against stakes competition, Pin Oak Stud homebred POINT SYSTEM closed on the far outside to claim the $100,000 H.B.P.A. S. by a neck. The 4-year-old filly by BROKEN VOW and half-sister to homebred and multiple Graded stakes winner SYNCHRONY, broke from the outside post in a field of 12 and trailed the field heading into the far turn. She began her rally around the turn on the extreme outside and continued to be way wide into the stretch. POINT SYSTEM put in a sustained drive down the lane and got to the wire first racing one mile & 70 yards on the all-weather surface on the closing night at Presque Isle Downs. This was her fifth victory from 10 starts and includes a Maiden Special Weight victory on the turf at Laurel in her second career start and an eight-length Allowance win going 1 1/4 miles on the dirt at Delaware.
