McKNIFE Takes Maiden at Laurel in Second Start
After a troubled debut, McKNIFE got the job done in his second start scoring a two-length win in this seven-furlong maiden contest at Laurel. The 18th winner from the first crop of COWBOY CAL disputed the pace early, then took the lead in upper stretch and continued to hold his advantage to the wire. In his debut, this 3-year-old clipped heels and stumbled soon after the break which left him too much to make up. McKNIFE was a $50,000 purchase out of the 2013 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2YO sale by his current owner. Lifetime record: 2-1-0-0, $13,200. O-Patrick Dooher. B-Equus Farm & Susan M. Forrester. T-Linda L.
