Grade 2 Winner CHOCOLATE MARTINI Returns With Win at Oaklawn

Fair Grounds Oaks-G2 winner CHOCOLATE MARTINI kicked off the season with a rallying stretch run to take an $85,000 Allowance at Oaklawn Park by 3/4 length. The 4-year-old filly by BROKEN VOW settled a little over five lengths off the lead as they raced through the first half mile in this 1 1 /16-mile test. Waiting for an opening on the far turn, CHOCOLATE MARTINI switched out four wide in midstretch for the run to the wire and got there first. Last year she defeated Wonder Gadot, a Canadian champion and Classic winner, and G1 winner Eskimo Kisses to win the Fair Grounds Oak-G2. She also placed in the Coaching Club American Oak-G1 to 2018 Champion Monomoy Girl and Midnight Bisou, and in Santa Anita’s Summertime Oaks-G2. Lifetime record: 13-4-0-3, $365,936.
