2YO Filly DRAGIC Places in Futurity S. Against Males

For the second straight race, both stakes, DRAGIC has placed to males, this time in Belmont’s $150,000 Futurity S. at six furlongs on the turf. The 2-year-old filly by BROKEN VOW raced just off the pace after contact at the start in an 11-horse field. She began her rally on the turn four wide and into the stretch, reached the frontend nearing the eighth pole and fought hard to the wire to finish just two lengths back, but was four lengths in front of the next horse. In her third start and one race back, DRAGIC placed in the $400,000 Kentucky Downs Juvenile S. to Henley’s Joy, who just got beat a nose in Keeneland’s G3 Dixiana Bourbon S. The $100,000 Keeneland September purchase by her current trainer won her debut going wire-to-wire in a Maiden Special Weight on the main track at Keeneland. In her second start she shipped to California and finished on the board in Del Mar’s G2 Sorrento S. to now multiple G1 SW Bellafina.
