LIFE IN SHAMBLES Impressive in Saratoga Allowance Score

Multiple stakes-placed LIFE IN SHAMBLES won his third straight with a 4 3/4-length win in an off-the-turf allowance at Saratoga. Going 5 1/2 furlongs on sloppy sealed track, the son of BROKEN VOW raced along the rail not far from the front. He began his rally midway around the turn, took the lead near the top of the stretch and drew away from there in a final time that was less than a second off the track record. LIFE IN SHAMBLES was coming off a 102 Beyer performance in his 2 1/2-length win going six furlongs at Belmont. The final time was just a little over a 1/5 second off the track record set by Artax. He started his three-race win streak with a win on the turf at Belmont in June. Earlier in his career, LIFE IN SHAMBLES was a narrow runner-up, beaten only a head, in the Sir Barton S., and also placed in Belmont’s Easy Goer S. Lifetime record: 19-6-2-1, $290,094.
