3YO DON’T FORGET Overcomes Trouble in Maiden Special Score

Making his third start off a seven-month layoff and trying turf for the second time, DON’T FORGET split horses in midstretch and got to the wire first by a neck in this about 1 1/16-mile Maiden Special Weight. The 3-year-old colt by ALTERNATION settled off the pace in the early going. Racing on the inside around the far turn and gaining momentum, DON’T FORGET was blocked behind horses turning for home. He finally  got an opening to split rivals with a furlong to go and accelerated past the runner-up, who had gotten the jump coming off the turn, and finished as much the best despite traffic at Remington Park. Lifetime record: 6-1-0-1, $27,271. O/B-Pin Oak Stable. T-Donnie K. Von Hemel.
