ALTERNATION’s Half-Brother Wins $1 Million Pacific Classic

HIGHER POWER, a 4-year-old colt bred by Pin Oak Stud and a half-brother to leading third-crop sire and Pin Oak stallion ALTERNATION, won the $1 Million Pacific Classic-G1 by 5 1/4 lengths. It was his first stakes victory after previously placing in a stakes in 2018 and this year. Multiple SW/3x GSP Alternate ($550,695), the dam of ALTERNATION, HIGHER POWER, as well as SW/GSP INTERRUPTED (by BROKEN VOW), was bred and raced by Pin Oak Stud and is a half-sister to Pin Oak homebred Canadian Horse of the Year and G1 winner PEAKS AND VALLEYS. Second dam Strike a Balance, granddam of top 3YO Mucho Gusto, was also bred and raced by Pin Oak Stud as was the third dam, Strike a Pose.
