BROKEN VOW Mares Sought After at Keeneland November
The first full week of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale saw mares by BROKEN VOW bring top dollar in the ring. Jane Lyon’s Summer Wind Farm went to $575,000 on the first day to purchase the young mare, INTERRUPTED. Hip 93 is a multiple stakes-winning, graded-placed earner of $251,005 and a half-sister to GSW/Millionaire ALTERNATION, a top 10 second-crop sire who stands at Pin Oak Stud. She is in foal to Distorted Humor and was purchased out of the Elm Tree Farm consignment. On Sunday, the 4-year-old mare DUCRU (hip 2430) topped the session with a final bid of $300,000 from Jason Litt on behalf Grandview, LLC. “We have clients who have shares in Good Magic, so we bought her to breed to Good Magic,” Litt explained. “She was a standout here. She’s absolutely beautiful and from a very precocious family.” She is in foal to Violence and was consigned by Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency.
