BYE BYE BERTIE Dominates One Mile Race at Santa Anita

Back on the dirt after a win at a mile on the turf at Del Mar in July, BYE BYE BERTIE took the lead heading into the stretch and drew off for a 5 1/2-length win at Santa Anita. The daughter of ALTERNATION broke from the outside post in this field of eight to be five wide around the first turn. Settling into midpack down the backstretch, BYE BYE BERTIE began to move up going four wide on the far turn. She continued her momentum turning for home and dominated this field that included multiple stakes horses, including a three-time 2021 Graded-placed runner. In her win at Del Mar, the final time of the mile turf race was 1:35.11 which was a faster time than they ran in the Osunitas S., later that day. Lifetime record: 18-7-1-2, $230,888.
