BYE BYE BERTIE Now Three for Four After Allowance Win

Coming off a 5 1/4-length allowance score last out in early January after a 16-month lay-off, BYE BYE BERTIE notched her third straight win from four starts taking a seven-furlong allowance at Laurel by a length. Stretching out a furlong farther than her previous wins, the 4-year-old filly by ALTERNATION stalked the pace this time in second in the early going. She began to close the gap on the turn, swung out four wide turning for home, had the lead by the eighth pole and remained in front to the winner. BYE BYE BERTIE won a Maiden Special Weight (pictured) as a juvenile in her second start after finishing runner-up, just 1 1/2 lengths back, to a Selima S.-placed filly in her debut. Lifetime record: 4-3-1-0, $80,790. O-Jerry Romans, Charlie Spring and Zoom and Fish Stable Inc. T-Hamilton Smith.
