BYE BYE BERTIE Returns in Style at Laurel

After more than a 16-month lay-off and four consecutive bullet works leading up to this start, BYE BYE BERTIE set the pace from the start and cruised to a 5 1/4-length allowance win at Laurel. The 4-year-old filly from the second crop of ALTERNATION rushed up to take the early lead going six furlongs. She moved out to be 3 1/2 lengths in front by the top of the stretch and drew off for an easy victory. On August 17, 2018, in her second career start as a 2-year-old, BYE BYE BERTIE set the pace to win a Maiden Special Weight here by 5 1/2 lengths (pictured). In her debut, she was runner-up, just 1 1/2 lengths back, to a Selima S.-placed filly. Lifetime record: 3-2-1-0, $55,140. O-Jerry Romans, Charlie Spring and Zoom and Fish Stable Inc. T-Hamilton Smith.
