FIELD DAY Rallies From Last to Win Churchill’s William Walker S.
After placing in his stakes debut at Gulfstream Park last time out, FIELD DAY, a 3-year-old son of BROKEN VOW, overcame an awkward beginning and then ran down a multiple stakes winner to take the $150,000 William Walker S., his first stakes victory. Racing 5 1/2 furlongs on the Churchill Downs turf course rated good after daylong showers, he bobbled at the start to put himself at the back early. FIELD DAY had to swing five wide turning for home and then put in a strong closely kick to earn the win by a neck. He won a Maiden Special Weight in his second and last start at two, and has never been worse than third in seven career starts. Lifetime record: 7-3-2-2, $164,170. O/B-Klein Racing. T-Brad Cox.
