HIGHLAND CREEK a Narrow Runner-Up in Stakes Debut at Fair Grounds

Coming off a 5 1/2-length allowance win here last out, HIGHLAND CREEK put in a strong kick down the lane to finish runner-up, just a neck back, in the $100,000 Crescent City Derby on the Louisiana Derby undercard. The 3-year-old son of BROKEN VOW raced off the pace early in this 1 1/16-mile test, was five wide going into the stretch, then moved in along the rail and nearly ran down the winner. HIGHLAND CREEK was a Maiden Special Weight winner here going a mile on the turf at two in his third career start. Lifetime record: 6-2-2-0, $87,841. O-Allied Racing Stable, LLC. B-J. Adcock & Neal McFadden. T-Bret Calhoun.
