SERENGETI EMPRESS Places in Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff-G1

Kentucky Oaks-G1 winner SERENGETI EMPRESS has now won or placed in four Grade 1 races from her last five starts after placing in the $2 Million Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff-G1. The 3-year-old filly from the second crop of ALTERNATION led for the first mile of this event and finished ahead of six other G1 SWs, in this 1 1/8-mile test at Santa Anita. This year after taking the Kentucky Oaks (pictured), SERENGETI EMPRESS was runner-up in the one mile Acorn S.-G1 and also in the seven-furlong Test S.-G1 where she was only 1/2 length back of Covfefe, winner of the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint-G1. At two, SERENGETI EMPRESS won three of five starts, including her record setting 19 1/2-length victory in the 1 1/16-mile Pocahontas S.-G2 at Churchill. Lifetime record: 12-5-2-1, $1,462,120.
