SUN SUMMERS Overcomes Problems in the Stretch to Place in Sunshine Filly and Mare Turf

Having won three of her last four starts, including the last two, SUN SUMMERS rallied between foes after being blocked for most of the stretch to place in the Sunshine Filly and Mare Turf S. at Gulfstream Park, only 1/2-length off the win. The daughter of BROKEN VOW raced along the rail for much of the way of this 1 1/16-mile event. After being hemmed in for most of her stretch run, SUN SUMMERS swung off the rail and charged between rivals to finish strongly. In her last four starts prior this one, SUN SUMMERS recorded wins at Belmont, Churchill and Aqueduct, and a runner-up finish at Saratoga. Lifetime record: 13-4-3-3, $154,000.
