SW/G3-Placed BROKEN GAME Gets Another Stakes Victory
Making her second start after a four-month lay-off, BROKEN GAME became a repeat winner of the 1 1/4-mile Pr. Felipe Pardo y Barreda at Hipodromo de Monterrico, in Peru. The Southern Hemisphere 4-year-old filly raced off the pace in third until they reached the far turn. She rallied three wide then moved up to challenge for the lead with a furlong to go. From there the two went head to head until the sixteenth pole and then BROKEN GAME drew off to win by an impressive 4 3/4 lengths, defeating a multiple G1 SW and two other G1 stakes horses. Last year she won this race by two lengths and also placed in the G3 Pr. Cesar Del Rio Suito. At 2, BROKEN GAME won her debut by 8 1/4 lengths. She has now won or placed in 12 of 14 starts, including eight wins. The first foal out of the Montjeu mare, Game (FR), BROKEN GAME was purchased out of the 2012 Keeneland September sale by her current owners and is a half-sister to 2015 SW Season Ticket.
