Three Winners on the Day for ALTERNATION
ALTERNATION chalked up three winners today, including victories at Santa Anita and Oaklawn. Three-year-old NATIONS HOPE, the 13th winner from ALTERNATION’s second crop, was coming off a runner-up finish last time out, where he was more than five lengths a head of the third-place horse. In this one mile event at Santa Anita, NATIONS HOPE stalked the leaders early. He swung three wide turning for home to secure the lead in upper stretch and held off a late closer to get the win by a neck. At Oaklawn, DAVKA came from 12th, 10 lengths back to win for the fourth time in his last six starts. And A BUNCH FOR LUNCH, making her first start in more than six months, came from 15 lengths back to win going away by 3 1/4 lengths.
