TONE BROKE Takes Down Canadian Classic Prince of Wales

TONE BROKE put in a strong rally down the stretch to win the $400,000 Prince of Wales S., the second leg of the OLG Canadian Triple Crown, at Fort Erie. The 3-year-old colt by BROKEN VOW sat in third until he began to close on the front two around the far turn racing 1 3/16 miles on dirt. He swung out four wide at the top of the stretch and continued his strong charge past the leaders and pulled away for a two-length victory. Third last out in the Queen’s Plate, the first leg of the Canadian Triple Crown, he turned the tables on the second-place finisher, Avie’s Flatter, who was runner-up in the Queen’s Plate and 2018 Sovereign Award Champion 2-Year-Old Colt, and third-place finisher, One Bad Boy, the winner of the Queen’s Plate.
