VOW ME NOW Breaks Course Record by More Than 1/2 Sec. in Gulfstream Park Win

Winner of Gulfstream’s English Channel S. (pictured, inside) two starts back, VOW ME NOW came off an 18-month layoff to set a new course record for about 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf, breaking the old mark by 3/5 second, in his wire-to-wire victory at Gulfstream. The son of BROKEN VOW broke sharply from the inside post to grab the lead. Setting the pace but being pressed the entire race, he eventually turned back the challenge from that foe at the top of the stretch and pulled away to defeat nine rivals by 2 1/4 lengths in this two-turn event. His new course record of 1:26.25 broke the previous record set by GSW/$500,000+ earner Hay Dakota. The win in the 1 1/16-mile English Channel was VOW ME NOW’s fourth win from four starts of the year.
