Record Time, a 2-year-old colt by Not This Time, remains undefeated with an impressive win on Friday night at Turfway Park.
Record Time stalked three wide under a long hold from jockey Joe Talamo down the backstretch. The bay colt started moving up closer around the turn and fought on bravely despite having covered some ground. He powered clear in the final furlong to win by 2 1/2 lengths.
He made his career debut in a maiden special weight race on October 5 at Presque Isle Downs, also over one mile on Tapeta, and won in wire-to-wire fashion by 3 3/4 lengths.
Bred by Eureka Thoroughbred Farm, Record Time is the first foal out of Diva’s Rule (by Roman Ruler), a winner of 8 races from 31 starts and $262,535 in earnings. Her biggest win came in the Bob Barry Memorial S., a 7 1/2-furlong turf stakes, which she took by 4 lengths in gate-to-wire fashion.
