Megalodon showcased his potential with a commanding maiden special weight victory at Turfway Park on Friday, February 22.

The 3-year-old son of Medaglia d’Oro out of Student Body was unhurried early, settling near the back of a crowded 11-horse field. He started picking off foes down the backside. Sweeping wide on the turn, he surged to the lead and drew clear in the lane, covering 6 ½ furlongs in 1:20.05 and finishing 2 ¾ lengths in front.

Under the skilled guidance of jockey Rafael Hernandez and prepared flawlessly by Josie Carroll and her team, Megalodon demonstrated both speed and stamina, signaling a bright future on the track.
