Chaos Agent Wins Impressive Maiden at Gulfstream

Chaos Agent made a memorable first impression in an 8 1/2-furlong maiden special weight on Gulfstream’s all-weather surface Thursday, capturing his career debut in style.

Trained by Josie Carroll, the 3-year-old son of Independence Hall showed professionalism from the start. Splitting the group through opening fractions of :23.29 and :47.62, Chaos Agent traveled comfortably before angling wide on the far turn to take aim at pacesetter Struck Gold.

Straightening for home with clear running room, he lengthened his stride and asserted his advantage in the stretch, drawing off to win by 1 1/2 lengths at the wire. Jorge Ruiz was the winning jockey.

From the first crop of Independence Hall, Chaos Agent is out of the stakes-placed Into Oblivion (by Into Mischief). He was bred by James Paliafito and Joe Adams in Kentucky.
