Pin Oak Next Steps

Onto the Next Steps

When a horse’s racing career is over, it is only the end of their first chapter. While some racehorses go on to become broodmares or stallions, many others need new paths. As responsible breeders and owners, we proudly take on the job of retraining those horses for their “Next Steps” in life at Pin Oak Louisiana.

As yearlings, our horses are given a well-rounded foundation that sets them up for their future. As racehorses, we give them the time that they need to mature. As retired racehorses, we continue that training to ensure that they are good citizens.

Horses in the Next Steps program are taught how to lunge, tie, stand at the mounting block, voice commands, basic W/T/C flat work, small jumps, trail ride, trailering, etc.

Our horses are priced affordably and sold as green broke. All the proceeds from Pin Oak Next Steps are donated to the Thoroughbred Retirement Network of Louisiana.

For more information on adopting a horse, please email Brynna at brynna@bernhardgroup.com.

An application is required for adoption. You can complete the online application here or the PDF application can be downloaded here and emailed to Brynna.
